About Us

Welcome!

Welcome to Cross of Hope Church! We are so glad you have chosen to check us out.

Whether you are brand new to church or you’ve been around church for a while, we want to say welcome! Our goal at Cross of Hope Church is to create environments and experiences where you can encounter God in powerful ways and grow in your faith. When you come to Cross of Hope Church our aim is that you would be inspired by the music, encouraged by the message, welcomed by our amazing community of people, and reminded that God’s grace is here!

At CHC, we love helping people. In fact, those are the first two words of what we are all about: “Helping people find and follow Jesus Christ.” We hope you quickly notice that our people have a contagious love for Jesus Christ and one another.

We provide loving, well-supervised childcare during all of our worship services. We have Sunday School for ages 2 through grade 6 at 9:30am. At 11:00am, there is Children’s Church for ages 2 through grade 4. Grades 5-6 will stay and worship with their parents. Junior High (Grades 7-8) and Senior High (Grades 9-12) students meet for Sunday School at 9:30am in the Youth Center.

Formerly Parma Heights Baptist Church

A Brief History

In 2024 we changed our name from Parma Heights Baptist Church to Cross of Hope Church. We have had a rich history and deep impact in our community for over 70 years. In 1952, Erin Avenue Baptist Church purchased land at the corner of West Ridgewood Drive and Ames Road with a vision to establish a new church in the growing suburb of Parma Heights. On July 11, 1954, the congregation broke ground for what would become Parma Heights Baptist Church. The land, once home to an old chicken coop, was cleared by dedicated church members, and the new church building was officially dedicated on May 1, 1955. As the surrounding community expanded, so did our church, leading to the construction of educational wings in 1958 and 1994, and a larger Worship Center in 1968. In 1979, the church further extended our ministry by establishing Parma Heights Christian Academy and Sonshine Preschool. In 2024, after seventy years of faithful service and growth, we embraced our new name, Cross of Hope Church, continuing our mission to help people find and follow Jesus Christ.
