Meet the CROSS OF HOPE CHURCH

Deacons

We invite you to get to know the dedicated deacons who serve our Cross of Hope community with compassion, faith, and a commitment to supporting the ministry of our church. Each deacon brings unique gifts and a heart for service as they walk alongside our congregation in care, prayer, and encouragement.

If you’d like to connect with any of our deacons, please reach out to the church office, and we will be glad to put you in touch.

My family has been attending Cross of Hope Church since the summer of 2021. My wife Dawn and I are raising four children: Austin, Chase, Bailey, and Emma. John married his wife Alika in 2003 and they have five children: Evan, Hannah, Laurel, Simon, and Jetta. John and Alika have been attending Cross of Hope Church for about 5 years and have been members since January 2022. John serves on the church security team, and John and Alika also lead a homegroup that meets off campus in members’ homes. John participates in the drama ministry and played the role of Jesus in the 2024 and 2025 Easter pageant.

My Wife, Lorraine and I have three adult Daughters and have been members of PHBC for 24 years. I am part of the Children’s Ministry, help with Connections, and have participated with dramatic presentations. Fun fact: Lorraine and I have played “street badminton” for ~35 years.

MOORMAN SCOTT

Administrative, Finance Appointee

Bonnie and I will be married for +50 years and have been members of PHBC since the late 1970’s. We have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren, all who live nearby in Brunswick and Medina and actively involved in local churches. I was saved when I was 10 years old and attended PHBC during my teen years in the late 1960’s. Having served in various ministries at PHBC including the last 6 years as Deacon Board Chairman, the nominating committee has again asked me to serve. I would like to continue on the board and work in partnership with our pastoral staff to see through our transition to Cross of Hope Church and help accelerate the momentum in our ministries to impact our local community with the gospel of Christ.

JOE WOLSKE

Connections, Communion

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior over 20 years ago. It was ten years ago when I walked into this Church, just for a visit, and I never left.

Being a member here has truly been a blessing for me. CHC is a place that fosters spiritual growth by helping to build relationships with God and with one another.

A special blessing I have received here is that this is where I met and married my lovely wife Linda nearly five years ago.

I currently enjoy being a member of the Connections Ministry Team and look forward to what God has planned for CHC.

JEFF HEMME
